HARVEST: A LAND BLESSED BY GOD

|

“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” (Genesis 8:22)

When Noah stepped out of the ark, God made a wonderful promise. Throughout the generations that promise has been faithfully kept. Year after year, the earth continues to yield its increase.

Here in Northern Ireland, we have particular reason to be thankful. Agriculture remains a vital part of our rural life and economy. Our farms produce around 2 billion litres of milk each year, while our fields and grasslands support a thriving livestock industry. With less than 3% of the United Kingdom’s population, Northern Ireland makes a remarkable contribution to the nation’s food supply.

What a remarkable testimony to the goodness and provision of God!

We ought to be thankful for the soil beneath our feet, the sunshine and the rain, the farmers who labour and the food upon our tables. We should also remember that much of this harvest depends on faithful work through every season—from preparing the ground and sowing the seed to caring for livestock and bringing crops safely in.

The Lord Jesus taught us to pray, “Give us this day our daily bread.” God has answered that prayer again and again. This Harvest, let us pause from the busyness of life to recognise His faithful provision and thank Him for every blessing, both great and small.

We warmly invite you to join us for our Harvest Thanksgiving services. Come with grateful hearts as we worship the Lord, give thanks for His goodness, and remember that every good gift comes from His gracious hand. It would be a joy to welcome you as we gather together in God’s house to praise the One from whom all blessings flow.
